MCT Coconut Oil
What Is It?
MCT Oil is a highly stable, lightweight oil derived from coconut oil, composed solely of medium-chain triglycerides (caprylic/capric triglycerides). It remains liquid at all temperatures and absorbs quickly into the skin, making it ideal for skincare, haircare, and cosmetic recipes.
Unlike virgin coconut oil, MCT oil is non-greasy and highly versatile. It is commonly used in serums, massage oils, and DIY beauty products due to its excellent shelf life and compatibility with essential oils.
INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients)
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
Proper Storage & Shelf Life
Storage: store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
Shelf Lift: MCT oil has a long shelf life of 2-3 years when stored properly.
Refined Or Unrefined
MCT oil is always refined, as it is extracted from coconut oil through a process that isolates the medium-chain triglycerides. It is colourless, odourless, and remains liquid at all temperatures.
