Hemp Seed Oil
What Is It?
Hemp seed oil is a cold-pressed oil extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant (Cannabis sativa). It is rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins, making it a highly nourishing and balancing oil for skin and hair care. Unlike CBD oil, hemp seed oil does not contain cannabinoids like THC or CBD.

Proper Storage & Shelf Life
Storage: in a cool, dark place, preferably in the refrigerator to prevent oxidation. Keep in an airtight container away from heat and direct sunlight.
Shelf life: Approximately 6-12 months, as it is prone to rancidity due to its high polyunsaturated fat content.
Refined Or Unrefined
Unrefined hemp seed oil is dark green with a nutty aroma and retains all its nutrients.
Refined hemp seed oil is lighter in colour and scent but loses some beneficial properties during processing.
Is It Necessary?
Yes, if you need a lightweight, non-greasy oil that absorbs quickly into the skin. This oil is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to restore and protect the skin barrier. If you have acne-prone or oily skin, hemp seed oil is non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) and helps balance oil production. It’s great if you need an anti-inflammatory oil to soothe eczema, psoriasis, or irritated skin.
Texture & Consistency
Lightweight, smooth, and absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue.
Natural Scent Profile
Mild, nutty, and slightly earthy aroma, which varies depending on refinement level.
Solubility & Compatibility
Oil-soluble; blends well with other carrier oils, essential oils, and butters.

PH
Hemp seed oil is neutral, with a pH range of about 6.0 to 7.0. It’s gentle on the skin and aligns well with the skin’s natural pH, making it suitable for most skin types.
Absorbency Rate
Hemp seed oil has a moderate to fast absorbency rate. It is lightweight and non-greasy, absorbing quickly into the skin without leaving a heavy residue. It hydrates the skin while balancing oil production, making it great for oily and acne-prone skin as well.
