Antifungal Tallow Cream Recipe

Fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, nail fungus, candida overgrowth, or body rashes are increasingly common, especially in warm, moist environments or after antibiotic use. While over-the-counter creams may provide temporary relief, they often rely on synthetic ingredients, petroleum bases, or harsh antifungal agents that can disrupt your skin’s natural microbiome. A gentler, more effective alternative is an antifungal tallow cream—a natural remedy made with grass-fed tallow and essential oils that supports skin healing without the toxins.

If you’re looking for a more natural, skin-friendly alternative, this DIY antifungal tallow cream could be your answer. With a base of grass-fed tallow and a carefully selected blend of antifungal essential oils, this cream not only targets fungal growth but also deeply nourishes and protects the skin. There are two versions: one featuring rosehip and black seed oil for gentle, nourishing care, and one with pure gum spirits of turpentine for more potent fungal cleansing.

Antifungal Tallow Cream: Two Powerful Versions

This cream is intended for topical use on fungal-prone areas such as feet, groin folds, underarms, or around the nails. Always patch test first, especially if using the turpentine version.

Ingredients

  • Version 1: With Rosehip + Black Seed Oil
  • 1 cup grass-fed tallow (rendered and filtered)

  • 2 tbsp rosehip oil

  • 2 tbsp black seed oil

  • 10 drops oregano essential oil

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil

  • 15 drops clove essential oil

  • 10 drops geranium essential oil

  • Versions 2: With Pure Gum Spirits of Turpentine
  • 1 cup grass-fed tallow (rendered and filtered)

  • ¼ cup 100% pure gum spirits of turpentine (Pinus palustris)

  • 10 drops oregano essential oil

  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil

  • 15 drops clove essential oil

  • 10 drops geranium essential oil

Directions

  • Gently melt the tallow in a double boiler until fully liquid.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • Stir in either the rosehip + black seed oils (Version 1) or the turpentine (Version 2).
  • Add essential oils and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour into a sterilised glass jar.
  • Let cool and set at room temperature (or refrigerate to speed up solidification).

Notes

  • Note: Turpentine is strong—do not apply to broken skin or mucous membranes. Always patch test first.
  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
    Shelf life:
    Version 1: ~6 months
Version 2 (with turpentine): ~12 months (turpentine acts as a natural preservative)
  • How to Use
Apply a small amount to clean, dry skin in affected areas.
Use 1–2 times per day or as needed.
Do not use on open wounds or mucous membranes.
Always perform a patch test before first use—especially with the turpentine version.
