Plant-Based Body Moisturiser for Healthy, Hydrated Skin

A well-formulated plant-based body moisturiser should do more than just soften the skin—it should deeply nourish, protect, and maintain hydration from morning to night. Many store-bought lotions are filled with synthetic ingredients that can strip the skin’s barrier, leaving it dry, irritated, or congested.

This plant-based moisturiser is made with rich botanical butters, oils, and waxes that absorb beautifully into the skin without feeling greasy. It’s ideal for daily use, suitable for all skin types, and can be easily customised with essential oils or even turned into a sunscreen with non-nano zinc oxide.

Benefits of Making Your Own Natural Moisturiser

  • Non-toxic: Free from parabens, synthetic fragrances, and preservatives
  • Cost-effective: Uses affordable, multipurpose ingredients
  • Eco-friendly: No unnecessary packaging; reusable glass jars encouraged
  • Customisable: Tailor to your skin type, scent preference, and seasonal needs

Ingredient Benefits

  • Shea Butter – Deeply moisturising and rich in vitamins A & E, shea butter calms irritated or dry skin.
  • Cocoa Butter – Packed with antioxidants and fatty acids, it improves skin tone and elasticity.
  • Jojoba Oil – Mimics skin’s natural oils, making it highly absorbable and perfect for balancing oil production.
  • Almond Oil – A light, vitamin-rich oil that softens rough patches and improves skin texture.
  • Coconut Oil – Helps soothe dryness and offers mild antibacterial and sun protection benefits.
  • Candelilla Wax – Seals in moisture, improves consistency, and is plant-based.
  • Aloe Vera Gel – Hydrating and cooling, ideal for sensitive or sun-exposed skin.
  • Vitamin E Oil – A natural preservative that also protects against oxidative stress and supports skin healing.
  • Non-Nano Zinc Oxide – Provides physical SPF (approx. SPF 20–25) without absorbing into the bloodstream.

Why Make a Plant-Based Moisturiser?

Choosing a DIY plant-based moisturiser means prioritising your health, the planet, and your wallet:

  • Healthier Skin – Free from parabens, artificial fragrances, and synthetic preservatives.
  • Eco-Friendly – Store in reusable containers and avoid unnecessary plastic waste.
  • Cost-Effective – One batch can last months and is much cheaper than premium store-bought creams.
  • Customisable – Adjust ingredients, scent, and SPF level based on your skin’s needs.

Embrace a more natural skincare routine that supports your skin barrier and keeps you feeling soft and nourished—morning to night.
